Sean Ferguson

As a speech-language pathologist, Sean enjoys working alongside families to develop a customized plan to help each child reach their full potential. Sean is bilingual (English and Spanish) and is proficient at communicating in beginning sign language. Sean provides therapy to children from infancy through adolescence. His experience working with children with special needs includes a variety of diagnosis such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s, Speech Delay, Developmental Disorders, Dysgraphia, Fluency Disorders (Stuttering), Social Communication Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD and more. Sean works in collaboration with parents, school professionals, and caregivers in order to support a child in their everyday environments to reach optimal potential. Sean believes that each child is unique and finds that a custom-tailored approach to their communication needs achieves the best results. Sean takes a “whole child” and “child centered” approach in therapy which assists his ability to promote healthy development based on their needs and unique profile.

After earning his Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kent State University in Ohio, Sean began working with patients who had experienced stroke and traumatic brain injury in an outpatient setting in Lubbock, Texas. Sean then relocated to Houston where he began specializing in pediatrics, focusing on helping children learn communication skills in the home setting and teaching parents the strategies needed to assist their child’s development. Sean founded Life Skills Therapy in 2015 with the mission of fostering a truly special and nurturing environment that brings families the joy of communication and connection in a creative and fun manner.
